With an engineering degree, you are rarely asked to do the same thing day-in day-out – that would be a waste of all your brains.

Engineers therefore work on new projects every few months even without changing ‘jobs’ – so, no, I never get bored in my job!

I do sometimes, usually when doing all the paperwork that comes with releasing a design to production. But there is usually something new and exciting just around the corner, and I know that if I do start to feel bored I can talk to my bosses and they will find me something interesting to do.

I get bored of my current job sometimes because there’s a lot of reading and writing involved in a PhD. When I’m working in industry I rarely get bored because there’s always something new to work on.
