A better gender balance. Things are improving but I think it’s really important to show girls and women what a great career they can have in engineering. I think a 50/50 split of women and men would make working environments and outputs even better.

I would have to agree with Eloise. Women are 51% of the population, everything should be a 50/50 split between men and women.

I would also say, I would change how the public perceive engineering. I think there are some misconceptions as to what engineers actually do and the impact we have in day to day lives. How much of the operates works because of the work of engineers.

Broken record time – I agree with Eloise and Iona.

Imagine you were to go into battle, a battle to save your entire planet, say against aliens. Would you really say, no wait, 50% of you need to stay home? For, you know, reasons.

We have been doing this nonsense for too long, and it is taking ages to fix itself because people are hard to change – even people who know and understand equality is right, still fall into the trap of ‘assuming’ what women want… just stop it!

More girls studying and working in engineering. Wait, this is same as Eliose, Iona and Jarrad’s responses!
