• Question: What is the hardest part of being an engineer?

      This is a really tough question to answer because I love being an engineer.

      The hours can get long sometimes if deadlines loom, and in can get stressful when problems come up, or if a design doesn’t work the way you want it to. But actually those are the times when its most exciting as well.

      I’m not a fan of paperwork. That can get quite tedious.

      Sometimes, I feel like we are the only people who actually ‘do’ anything real.

      Art is nice, but singing, acting, dancing or painting does not feed people or save planets; meantime, bankers, lawyers and salesmen are trying get our money; the police and the politicians are trying to rule us, and the doctors are only delaying the inevitable…

      Ok, doctors are pretty useful, I take that one back!

      But hopefully I made my point 😉

      PS Farmers (and fisher-persons) are also in a special class of super-useful people for which I have huge respect.
